White is buried in the Morningside Cemetery, but does not have his death date - it is illegible on the stone. John V. White is mentioned in the Historical Society's record of Greenbrier County deaths as reporting the death of two of his children, but his death is not recorded. The only other possible place to check is the records in the Greenbrier County Courthouse. Jim Will of John V. White, (Vol. 5, pg. 92-93), Greenbrier Co., WV John V. White's will was filed March 17, 1879 and probated August 26, 1879. In his will he names his primary beneficiaries as his daughters Marths S. White, Mary E. Scott, and Araminta J. Scott. He instructs these three daughters to pay his other daughter, Nancy Buswell, Elizabeth W. White, Sarah St. Rapp, and Catharine A. Scott, eact $6.00. There was no mention of his wife in the will. The courthouse will not make copies of the will because it is so fragile.
