Annie Maude Watts Hurst, Lineville, Clay Co., Alabama Compiled from 1969-1990 from living family members, family Bibles, federal census, marriage records, cemetery markers, and obituary records. Viney Hill b. 1868 Clay Co., Ala. died 1924 Texas, buried there. Married (1) James Patterson March 3, 1881 Clay Co., Ala, at the home of his brother, Thomas Patterson, who married Louisa Watts. According to oral history they lived in a one room log house with a dirt floor and even though she was a very young teenaged girl she wanted a clean house. James would spit his tobacco juice on her clean swept floor so much that when her father made a visit from Texas, where he had gone several years earlier when he left Nancy Ann, she and her sister, Mae Lina, went with him back to Texas. She married (2) ? McCormick and had children---1. Edna, 2. Flora, 3. Woodrow (Woody), 4. Bertha. She married (3) ? Patrick, no children.

On the index for the death certificate of Vinie her name is spelled "Virgie". Oakwood Cemetery in Waco has her name as "Vinnie" as does the death certificate for Thomas Whaley Patrick. Death certificate has her name as Virie L.
Informant on death certificate was Mrs. Bertha McCormick Eakin, Moody, Texas
