Note: Baytown Sun, Baytown, Texas, July 28, 1998 Beverly Doucet Garvey, 75, of Baytown, died Sunday, July 26, 1998, in a local hospital. Born Aug. 1, 1922, in Pelly, to Adam and Violet Doucet, Garvey was the first of five children in her family. She lived in Baytown all of her life and graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1940. Garvey married her husband, Robert M. Garvey in August of 1945, and they had one daughter, Kathryn. She was a member of Cedar Bayou Baptist Chruch. Garvey was preceded in death by her daughter, Kathryn Garvey, in 1996. She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Garvey of Baytown; grandchildren, Denise of Mercer Island, Wash. and Jeffery Homes-Hunter of Anchorage, Alaska; great grandchildren, Adam Faghihy and Andrew Owen; sisters and brother, Frances Tomek of Houston, Agnes and Beano Baker of Baytown, Martha Sick of Houston, and Curtis and Patsy Newberry of Baytown; son-in-law, Clifford H. Hunter of Santa Maria, Calif.; Florence Page of Baytown; Jane and Stanley Zielinski of Houston, Margaret Newberry of Sand Spring, Okla., and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Visitation was held Monday at Navarre Funeral Home. Services will held at 2 p.m. today at Navarre Chapel with the Rev. Ron Page officiating. Burial will follow at San Jacinto Memorial Park on Interstate 10. Arrangements are under the direction of Navarre Funeral Home.
