Note: Eleanor M. (Hilgemeier) Laut, 96, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at Greenwood Village South. She was a resident of Greenwood and a former resident of Indianapolis.
She was born May 11, 1906, in Indianapolis. Her parents were Christian and Lillian (Ruth) Hilgemeier. She married Leslie H. Laut on June 18, 1930. He preceded her in death. Survivors include a nephew, Harold Laut of Greenwood; a niece, Doris L. Smith of Greenwood; and two great-nephews. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Rose Wolfinger; two sisters, Lillian Longere and Ruth Lutz; and a brother, Frank Hilgemeier.
She was a 1923 graduate of Emmerich Manual High School.
She was employed by the Indianapolis Public School Board for several years as a secretary, retiring in 1971.
She was the oldest member of Emmaus Lutheran Church in Indianapolis and was a member of the White Cross Guild.
A service will be conducted at 11:30 a.m. Saturday at G.H. Herrmann Madison Avenue Funeral Home in Indianapolis. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Concordia Cemetery in Indianapolis.
