Note: From Joyce Shedd: [Emily] married William Posey. She died. He went to work one day and never returned. At this time my Mother is unclear as to who kept the children while William worked. Mr. Joshua Teague and his family kept the three children. When they were of an age to work, Thomas Martin took Mr. Teague to court to get the children back. Mr. Martin won. A short time later Tom and Frank ran away. It was night time, they came to a creek and Mr. Teague was there with horses and stated "I knew you boys would come home." Mr. Martin never tried to get the boys back. He did raise Nancy.
