Note:   (Research):1830: Enumerated as a widow on the 1830 U.S. Federal Census Record.
  Enumerated on an 1837 census for New London, Merrimack Co., NH and was listed as a widow on the 1840 U.S. Census for New London, Merrimack Co., NH. Both Greene French and James Stinson are living in New London on the 1820 and 1830 U.S. Census and in 1840 Mary is living just a few farms apart from James Stinson. Mary's daughter and James Stinson's son married.
  Mary was probably enumerated as Mary Hannaford in New London on the 1870 U.S. Census.
  Hartford, Mrs. Mary. '97 After the death of Greene French [245] in 1843, his real estate on Colby hill was divided among his heirs, Mary, the oldest dau., receiving 95 acres ; and there- after she res. with her children at the homestead. She lived to a great age, and retained her faculties in a remarkable degree to the last. Mary d. Dec. 13, 1885. A part of the property, including the Greene French house, is now owned by a grand- daughter, Mrs. James B. Royce of Washington, D. C, who uses it as a summer home.   Sept. 31, 1861; wounded at Gettysburg, and d. Aug. 1, 1863.
  (3). Henry, b. Goffstown, Feb. 7, 1847; enlisted in Eleventh N. H. V., and served till the war closed ; afterwards served five years in the regular army. Henry m. Louise Stewart and d. in Chehalis, Washington, Mav 7, 1897. Chil- dren : Clarence, Eddie, Leith.
  (4). Ellen C, b. Aug. 8, 1849; m., Nov. 7, 1883, James B. Royce, of the Paymaster-General's department, Wash- ington, D. C. ; res. in Washington, with a summer home at N. L. Child: (a) Lillian, b. Sept. 28, 1884.
  (5). Fronie, b. June 7, 1S53 ; m. Frederick T. Wilson. Chil- dren : Charlie, Harry, Nellie.
