Whitehurst Died in Orlando of Heart Attack; William Phillip Whitehurst, 65, who was born and reared in Plant City where he has been a life long resident, died of a heart attack last Thursday in an Orlando Hospital where he was taken after suffering an attack while on a fishing trip. His grandparents were early settlers in this section. Funeral services were held here Sunday afternoon at the First Baptist Church with the Rev. L. Don Miley officiating. Burial was in Oaklawn Cemetery under the direction of Hopkins Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Alfred Grows, John Henry Sangster, Ben Jones, D.M. Whilden, Joe Custead and W.T. Adams. He is survived by a daughter, Mrs. R.F. Pitman, Tampa, five sons, Rudolph A. Whitehurst, Tampa; William Philip Whitehurst, Jr., Houston, Texas, Owen Whitehurst, John Willard Whitehurst and Fritz Whitehurst, all of Plant City; two brothers. Leon Whitehurst, Plant City, Melvin Whitehurst, St. Petersburg; also 15 grandchildren.
  (Note; as per Rudolph A. Whitehurst July 19,1993 W.P.'s cause of death was from a rupture of an aneurism of the aorta, not from a heart attack).
