Note: (Research):An Argin Thompson married J. M. Stone in Hillsborough Co., Florida on January 22 1895 (Book K, p. 56). J. is also known as James.
A James M. Stone, a. 6, son of Thomas J. Stone (b. South Carolina) and Tabitha (b. Alabama), is living several farms away from Louisa Thompson on the 1880 Hillsborough County Census. This family is again found on the 1885 U.S. Census living close to David W. Thompson and his daughter Oregon (Argin?).
Thomas J. Stone owned Section 3 and 11, Township 30S, Range 20E which is evidently very close to where David W. Thompson and Oregon lived as David and Oregon are enumerated on the same census page as Thomas J. Stone and his son James in 1885. There does not appear to be a deed record for the land David Thompson lived on at this time. David and Oregon are also living close to Thomas Carlton who owned land in Section 1, Township 30S, Range 20E. Louisa (Wynn) Thompson's land was no more than 3 or 4 miles from this section of Township 30S, Range 20E.
Oregon's cousin, David W. Thompson, Jr., was married in 1882 at Jeff Stone's (sic Thomas Jefferson Stone) home in Peru, Florida according to the Sunland Tribune.
A J. M. Stone, a. 37 (father born in South Carolina and mother born in Alabama) and Tiny, are found on the 1910 U.S. Census for Hillsborough Co., Florida. Tiny is enumerated as being married 2x and some of the children in J. M. Stone's home are enumerated as being step-children. Nellie, a. 14, is enumerated as being his daughter. This could be the child of Oregon and James Stone.
Tennie Stone, a. 40, is found on the 1920 U.S. Census for Hillsborough Co. She is a widow.
