  Deceased Name: Maness , Hugh Burroughs
  GREENSBORO HUGH BURROUGHS MANESS , 87, PASSED away Monday, December 22, 2014, at Whitestone. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m., Friday, December 26, 2014, at Hanes Lineberry North Elm Chapel with a visitation one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Westminster Gardens Cemetery. Hugh served briefly in the Navy in World War II and the Korean Wars. He was employed for 40 years as an accountant with Beaman Corporation. He also served as secretary-treasurer, chief financial officer and Chairman of the Board of Directors. Hugh was a member of Friendly Avenue Baptist Church. He served as an usher and was a member of the John Durham Bible Class. Hugh was an avid gardener and for many years enjoyed sharing his vegetables with family and friends. Mr. Maness was preceded in death by his parents, Barna and Sina Maness ; sister, Doris and brothers, Bill Doug, Robert, Joe and B.J. Maness . He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Maxine Maness ; sons, Alan Maness and his wife Jeanne; Howard Maness ; daughter, Nina Coffey and her husband Charles; grandchildren, Haley and Matthew Maness and his sister, Maxine Crews.In lieu of flowers, memorials can be sent to Friendly Avenue Baptist Church, 4800 W. Friendly Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27410 or to Hospice and Palliative Care of Greensboro, 2500 Summit Avenue, Greensboro, NC 27405.Online condolences may be made to www.haneslineberryfuneralhomes.com.
