GREENSBORO HOWARD MANESS, 64, PASSED AWAY ON Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Firsthealth Moore Regional Hospital in Pinehurst after a 17 month battle with COPD. A native of Greensboro, he was the son of late Hugh B. Maness and Maxine Maness. He was a 1973 graduate of Grimsley High School and a 1978 graduate of UNCG. He was a Baptist. Howard could always make you laugh with his one line jokes. Including his mother, survivors are brother Alan Maness (wife Jeanne) and sister Nina Maness Coffey (husband Charles). The family would like to recognize the professional and compassionate care given to Howard during his time at the Montgomery Village in Star and also his special caregivers at the hospital, Lisa, Scottie & Dr. Salvador. Your care for Howard made his passing so much easier for our family. Thank you so much! Again many thanks to our friends and family (especially our Larkwood family) for their love and support expressed during our time of loss. The Maness family hopes that Howard's passing will persuade anyone that is a cigarette smoker to quit. No services are planned. Memorial donations can be made to the COPD Foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd, Miami, Florida 33134, online at www.copdfoundation.org, or via phone 1-866-731-2673 ext 228.
