His fathers name was James Norman Byrd he was born in 1916 to my Great Grandparents, there names were Jessie James and Alma Byrd they were from Lake Buttler, Starke, Jacksonville and Lake Harris. Charles father was killed in 1950 in a car accident in Savannah Ga. the newpaper said he was with a women name Mita Baker which was not his wife, his wifes name was Ethel at the time and they had Charles and a Stepdaughter name Jacqueline his father also worked for Rexall Drugs . The story goes that Charles was in some kind of theft ring that kids got into back then and he killed the man that ran it, and was sent to the State Hospital in Chattahoochee, I also know that it was in one of those Det Magazine back then but can not find a copy. The Byrd family seemed to have keep to themself, I have really had a hard time finding much on them, I found most of my information at the Starke court house. The Byrd family also went to the Tampa Fl area to. I hope this helpes please let me know if this is the same Charles that you are looking for. Robin
