Note: (Research):Deaths Here and Elsewhere: Tampa Tribune, November 4, 1955 Mrs. Lona Sumner Dies at Residence Mrs. Lona Louise Sumner, 63, of 2009 Davis St., died yesterday morning at her residence. She was a lifelong resident of Tampa. Survivors are five daughters, Mrs. Pearle Lester, St. Petersburg, and Mrs. Annie Mason, Miss Norma Sumner, Mrs. Phyllis Darby and Mrs. Alice Fernandez, all of Tampa; two sons, Earle Sumner, Tampa, and Julius Sumner, Brooklyn; her mother, Mrs. Elizabeth Bowhea, Gibsonton; three sisters, Mrs. G. C. Courtney, Mrs. Lily Connell and Mrs. M. A. DeAngelo, all of Gibsonton; two brothers, Irvin Thompson, Tampa, and McCoy Thompson, Miami; nine grandchildren and a great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock at Wilson Sammon Company Funeral Home. The Rev. Frank Bishop, pastor of Belmont Heights Baptist Church, will officiate. Interment will be in Hackney Cemetery. Frank Bishop, pastor of Belmont Heights Baptist Church, to officiate. Interment in Hackney Cemetery. Pallbearers are Donal Ray Connell, L. D. Reeves, Phillip Connell, Arlton Connell, Paul Fernandez and George Mason. The 1900 U.S. Federal Census Record for Hillsborough County, Florida gives her date of birth as October 1891.
