  Grave marker lists his birthdate as 7 Oct 1866; however, the 1870 U.S. Census Report lists his age as 10. The 1900 census report lists his birthdate as May 1864.

  Tampa Morning Tribune, October 19, 1927 F. M. Thompson, 61, Deputy, Succumbs Served 25 years for County; Funeral Tomorrow
  Frank M. Thompson, 61, pioneer citizen of Hillsborough county and a deputy sheriff for many years, died last night at 7:15 o'clock at the home, 708 Hughes street, after a long illness.
  He was identified with the sheriff's office over a period of about 25 years, having served under the administration of former Sheriffs T. L. Lesley, Robert A. Jackson, T. K. Spencer, W. C. Spencer and Sheriff Hiers. Many years of this service was spent as bailiff in the circuit court.
  Mr. Thompson was born at Thomasville, Ga., Oct. 7, 1866. He came to Florida in early youth, and with his family made his home at Riverview. He moved to Tampa about five years ago.
  Surviving members of the family are the widow Mrs. Hattie B. Thompson; a sister, Mrs. W. F. Hall of Tampa; three brothers, T. L. and W. A. Thompson of Riverview, and Alec Thompson of Okeechobee.
  Mr. Thompson was a member of the First Methodist church, and funeral services will be held there tomorrow afternoon at 2 o'clock. Burial will be in the Riverview cemetery, with ceremonies of the Masonic order of which Mr. Thompson was a member for years.

  Thompson Rites to be Held Today Funeral services for Frank M. Thompson, pioneer citizen of Hillsborough county and former deputy sheriff, will be held from the residence, 708 Hugh street, this afternoon at 2 o'clock. After brief services at the home, the body will be taken to the First Methodist church, where services will be conducted.
  Pallbearers will be: H. J. Moody, W. B. Moody, R. L. Moody, L. M. Hiers, G. P. Williamson, C. M. Keltner, J. Blount, and T. D. McGee. Burial will be in Riverview cemetery, with Masonic ceremonies.
