Regarding Jesse's children, Fredrick Green Thompson is enumerated in Thomas County, Georgis in 1850. William Sherod Thompson and his brother Lewis M. were in Franklin County on the 1850 Census (p. 247), and they removed to Thomas County before 1860. There is a deed record from Thomas County dated 1853 for William S. Thompson. David W. is living with Mourning Bailey Thompson on the 1850 Census for Jackson County, Georgia-it appears this David removed with her to Thomas County and both can be counted on the 1860 Thomas County Census (Thomasville P.O. p. 28 and 67). Susannah married John Bulloch in Thomas County in December of 1855. Jesse N. is also found in Thomas County and was married there in June 1867.
Lewis M., Frederick Green, David W. and Jesse N., all enlisted with the Georgia 29th Infantry Regiment during the Civil War. Lewis M., Frederick Green, and David W. enlisted on October 4, 1861 and Jesse N. enlisted in June 1861. Frederick Green died at Screven's Ferry on 21 May 1862 in Screven County, GA. Their nephew, Tandy Talemicus Thompson, enlisted with the 29th Cavalry Regiment.
There are many records in the Deed Books of Elbert County for Jesse (not Jesse W.) Thompson. I do not think these two individuals are one and the same person. The Jesse of Elbert County, in Deed Book P, 1808, was identified as being married to a Nancy. This Jesse owned land adjacent to a William and A. Thompson. He is also a signatory for many of the Deed Records for Robert Thompson.

The importance of this document is that it establishes the names of Jesse W. Thompson's living children and where they were residing in 1854.
1854, Thomas McGuire purchased the Thompson homestead in Jackson County, Georgia from Jesse W. Thompson. Thomas was living in Cobb County, Georgia at that time.
1855, this passage is found in Revolutionary War Records Virginia, Section IV: Thompson, Sherod (Adjutant General 50,173), Jesse W. Thompson of Thomas Co., Ga., was his heir at law June 4, 1855.   Note: This information apparently did not come to the Adjutant General's Office in Washington, D.C.; rather it more likely came from the state of Virginia or Georgia Adjutant's office. At the National Archives, Washington, D.C., a search of Adjutant General microfiche records for year 1855 and for the letters "G" and "T" did not result in any information as to where this data may have come from. Moreover the AG number included with Brumbaugh's information does not match the nomenclature system used by the Adjutant General's Office. That office employed a year, letter and order of receipt filing system, so for example, the 5th letter received at that office from Texas in the year 1849 would have a file designation of T-5 for the year 1849. Visit made on 13 June 2009.
