An Anderson McGuire is listed as being a soldier who marched to Guilford Courthouse, North Carolina in 1781 with Capt. Swinfield Hill's Company. He was of Henry County, Virginia. Of course we know that William and Sherrod Thompson also served in Capt. Hills Company. An Anderson McGuire is found in Elbert Co., Georgia in 1820 and 1830. There are scarce few Anderson McGuire's enumerated during these years on the U.S. Census Record and these are probably one and the same individual. Elbert County is where Jesse W. Thompson married Permelia. This could be Permelia's father. Allegheny McGuire's Depositon for his Revolutionary War Pension Application states that he was born August 6, 1757 in Willis Creek, Cumberland County, Virginia and that his father moved to Henry County, Virginia and then later to Elbert County, Georgia.

Thompson McWire (McGuire) is found in the county records for Jackson and Elbert, but never appears on a U.S. Census for those counties.
Ancestry.com contributors give Thompson McWire's birth date and place as between 1760 and 1770 in Cumberland County, Virginia or South Carolina and his death was after 1840 in Campbell County, Georgia. He married Frances Tyner. Children of this marriage are listed as David, Martha, Riley Lee, Elisa and Frederick. His father is given as Zachariah.
Thompson McGuire's name is found in the Elbert County, Georgia Deed Book A, 1789-1792. He was a grantee.

He appears on the 1808 list of tax defaulters for Jackson County and was living in Captain David H. McCleskey's District. A David and Frederick McWire were also listed as defaulters; his sons would have been too young to be listed in 1808, so they may be his siblings.
Thompson McWire (McGuire, Magwire) is listed as party to several indentures in Elbert County, one of which involved Sherod Thompson.
Regarding Thompson McGuire He was in Hall Co. GA in 1820 but shows up on a defaulters list in 1822-24 which could mean 1. he was delinquent or 2. He had left the area?? (note in the following it says where he formerly lived)
By 1830 Thompson McGuire is in Campbell County...

1854, Thomas McGuire purchased the Thompson homestead in Jackson County, Georgia from Jesse W. Thompson. Thomas was living in Cobb County at that time.
Several other families present possibilities but all appear to be related to each other in some way.... _________________________________ ALLEGHANEY McGUIRE : residing in Wilkes County, GA 1787 Page 159--McDONALD, HUGH and wife Helen to Moses Hunt, 200 acres on Rocky branch of Coldwater creek, adj.   _________________________________ An Absalom B. McGuire is found on early tax lists in Jackson County, Georgia. It is very interesting to note that IGI Individual Record on the LDS website shows that he was born about 1786 in Georgia and died in Thomas County, Georgia March 1854. I could not find any record of his burial location in Craigmiles, Survey of Thomas County, Georgia Cemeteries to confirm that information. _________________________________ THEN THERE IS TIMOTHY MCGUIRE: 1786 Page 34--LANDERS, ABRAHAM and wife Martha of Greene Co. to Timothy McGuire of Wilkes Co. 250 acres adj.   1797/10/28 Agreeable to an order of the honorable the Interior Court of the county of Oglethorpe WILL BE SOLD, on the first Tuesday in January next, at the courthouse of said county, between the hours of ten and two o'clock the following tracts of land, the property of TIMOTHY MCGUIRE deceased, viz. Two tracts of land, each containing, 250 acres on Ogechee, adjoining lands of Jesse Lacy and Wm. Perkins, with good improvements on each; the land is very good for tabacco and other produce. Condition of sale. . . credit for 12 months, giving notes of 25 dollars and approved security. James Rutledge, Adm'r October 23, 1797 _____________________ In the 1820 Census in Jackson Co., GA, there is a FREDERICK MCWIRE and it states that he was born 1775 and he had 3 girls and 2 boys one being born 1810 to 1820 and the other 1804 to 1810. (He also had 1 free "colored" man, and 7 slaves). Now in 1850 the younger Thompson McWire is in the Greene Co., GA Census and his wife is Mary and he state they were 43 years old, which fits in very well with Frederick's son born between 1804 to 1810. This younger Thompson McWire's dies about 1867. Then in 1850 he is the executor of Frederick McWire. Thompson (the younger) has to be Frederick McGuire's son, and this Frederick would appear to be the brother of Thompson McGuire.
