Father is probably Kindred Braswell of Jefferson Co., Georgia. He married Patsy McCoy on 11 Jun 1816 in Jefferson County. He moved to Thomas County between 1830 and 1840. Kindred is living in Laurens County, Georgia in 1830.
Ochlocknee, Thomas County, Georgia was founded about 1860. It was a small settlement where most of my Thomas County ancestor's resided. Construction of a railway line between Thomasville and Albany was proposed in 1869. Several locations for construction of the depot were considered. Three sites were settled upon and the final site may have been chosen based on petitions obtained by the people of Ochlocknee. Two petitions were circulated and signed, and the following family names can be found in Petition A and Petition C.
