Notes
a. Note:   Not proven to be Jonathon and Mary (Womack) Spradling's son, but he was not listed as the child of any other children of Charles and Agnes Spradling in the old Bible. Most of the other children, their wives, and their grandchildren were named in the old Bible. Jonathan was named but none of his children were named. His son, Oliver, was named in the disputed will of Jonathan's wife, Mary (Womack) Spradling's uncle William Womack. Joshua lived near Oliver Spradling in Georgia and the other probable sons and grandchilden of Jonathan and Mary Spradling, John Spradling, David Spradling, and William Spradling. Two of Joshua's descendants were one genetic distance away from an exact DNA match with six descendants of Charles and Agnes Spradling, and another was two genetic distances from an exact DNA match.
Joshua was probably the son of one of Charles and Agnes Spradling's sons, but which one is the big queston. Charles was born about 1700 in Hanover Co., VA and had sons, Jonathan "John", James "Jack", Joseph Edgar, Charles II, and Andrew Bryant. Jonathan's children and grandchildren lived in Franklin County, Georgia, and parts west of there, according to his wife, Mary (Womack) Spradling's uncle William Womack's disputed will. The only child mentioned was Oliver Spradling. He was about Joshua's age. None of James "Jack" Spradling's children moved to Georgia, however, Joshua and Margaret were married in Wilkes Co., NC when James "Jack" lived there. Joseph Spradling, son of Joseph Edgar Spradling, lived in Greene County, Georgia before he moved to Alabama, Mississippi Territory around 1798 when he sold his Greene County land to Douglas Carroll. Joseph was born 1746 in Viirginia. Joshua also lived in Greene County, Georgia. Joshua was not a son of Joseph Edgar because all of Joseph Edgar's children were named in his will. Also, he was not named as Joseph Edgar's son in the Old Spradling Bible or in any of Joseph Edgar's records.

Passports of Southeastern Pioneers 1770-1823 Georgia Passports page 175; Executive Department Wednesday 2d September 1801 ORDERED That a passport through the creek nation of Indians to the settlements on the Tom or Don Bigby river for William Kimbrough Senior, William Kimbrough Junr., William Baldwin, Claiborne Foster, and Joshua Spradlin, be prepared which was presented and signed Note: The order said nothing about their families. Normally on these passports, the family will be mentioned if they will accompany the party.I dont believe Claiborne Foster and Joshua Spradlin are connected to the Kimbroughs and Baldwins. Foster traded in cattle and hogs. Spradlin had brothers in Mississppi. On 20 Apr 1801 William Baldwins brother, Mordecai and family had been issued a passport. 1803- (written 24 August 1803; proved Greene Co., GA, 30 September 1803). Note: This was Mississippi Territory at this time.
