Hay Lakes became home to several people on April 21, 1903 including the Diewerts which were a family of 13. In 1911 the last name is spelled Hiewort and Diewort and the are in Strathcona, township 48. Living at home are Olga, Reinhold, Ferdinand, Augusta, Emilie, Esta, August and Ella. In 1920 he is in Polk, Oregon with his wife Millie, children Elsie, Esther, August
