Note: Lewis Seiler was apparently the twin of John Seiler, who died at the age of 10 months and 10 days. According to notes by Joseph Seiler, dated January 22, 1966: 'Oldest of the Seiler brothers, he had a quick temper and could be violent. Popular with all who knew him, he was gentle with children and lived as a simple country farmhand. Married to a patient woman (name unknown), they lived on a farm off US 52 in the Dent (Cincinnati suburb) area, after he had supported himself as a painter until married. About 5'4", 200# or more, he appeared squat and shaggy, although always clean-shaven. He enjoyed conversation and polite argument. A powerful, simple man without much formal education, his decisions always resulted in immediate action. According to a newspaper story, he once entered a country store which was in the process of being held up at the time. He nonetheless requested service, and when the robber threatened him, he stamped down on the robber's foot, breaking some bones, then broke his jaw with a punch. Afterwards he returned home and refused any further involvement in the matter. He was a poor driver, and had a Model T Ford which he seemed unable to control, resulting in frequent minor accidents.'
