Note: baptized on March 13, 1810 when he was ten days old. He was confirmed into the Lutheran church on May 5, 1824 and emigrated to the US in 1828 when he was 18. It is known that he first settled in PA, where he married, and, his first son, Wilhelm, born in 1835, was born. However, by the 1840 Ohio census, the family was living in Ohio and it is known that the second son, Heinrich, was born in Ohio in 1837. Christian had a full sister, Regina Losch who emigrated with her husband, Johannes, to America.
