Note: he family changed the spelling of the name to Auxter. He was baptized on Sept. 14 when he was two weeks old. He was confirmed into the Lutheran church on June 26, 1853. He died at age 72 years, 5 months and 3 days. He lived in Sandusky County, Ohio until age 63 when he moved to Elmore, Ohio. He is buried in the Union cemetery in Elmore.
