Note: Source: "In the Shadow of the Smokies" by the Smokey Mountain Historical Society, pg. 198 loaned to my by Stella Underwood. She was one of the group from the Society that walked every cemetery in Sevier County to gather information for this book. Page. 198: Kerr Cemetery is now under water (Douglas Lake). Daniel Kerr and his wife, Sarah's graves were moved to Providence Cemetery in Sevier County. 16 unidentified graves were moved to Pleasant Hill and Hills Chapel Cemetery in Jefferson County, TN. Since the 1850 Sevier County census shows Fatha Kelly as 53 years old but doesn't show William Kelly, her husband, it is possible that she buried him in her family's cemetery and that she was also buried there. they are probably two of the unmarked graces moved by TVA. Page 50: Another possibility: Fatha could be buried in one of the several un inscribed fieldstones, along with her second husband,G.W. Petty in the Petty cemetery in Sevier County, TN. This is a very old cemetery not accessible by car. Fatha Kerr becomes a very interesting lady as I research this family. She becomes my husbands "double" grandmother because of her two marriages. His maternal grandparents are Thomas Raymond Hodge and Elizabeth Tennessee Kelly. Thomas is the grandson of Mary Elizabeth Petty. Mary Elizabeth is the Fatha's daughter (a twin) from her second marriage to G.W. Petty. Elizabeth is the ggranddaughter of William Kelly, Fatha's first husband.
