Lyon Gardiner Tyler, in Letters and Times of the Tylers, records the following information: a. Henry Tyler firt appears in the records of York Co., VA in 1645. b. According to his dispostion, Henry was born about 1604. c. Henry patented 254 acres at Middle Plantation on 7 Jan 1652-53 for importin six persons into the county - himself, his wife Mary, and four others. d. In 1653, Henry Tyler was Justice of the Peace for York Co., VA e. A John Orchard died in 1655, and soon thereafter his widow married Henry Tyler. f. In 1666, Henry patented 1800 acres for importing 36 persons. g. On 13 Apr 1672, administration on his estate was granted to his widow, Ann. At June Court, 1672, Ann Tyler, relict of Henry Tyler, of Middletown parish, in York Co. recorded a deed of gift to her sons, Henry, John, and Daniel. h. Since the son, Henry, was the heir of his father, there could have been no children from the first marriage. The Letters and Times of the Tyler by Lyon Gardiner Tyler records the following information: 1. On 23 Jan 1685, John Tyler a receipt for the share given him by his mother's deed to Martin Gardner, his guardian. This was witnessed by Samuel Bainton, Robert King, and Ann Marriesburg. 2.
