a. Note:   Esther used to ride the streetcar to watch her future husband, Matt Berger, and his orchestra play. She was of medium height with dark, wavy hair, not slight of build, but broad shouldered, not fat. She was widowed young with four children, remarried, had twin sons, and was soon widowed again. She lived in Brookfield, Wis. and then moved to a duplex in Wauwatosa for income and so she could get around on the bus, as she did not drive. She and her sisters took care of their parents in old age. She enjoyed canasta and family gatherings, and good "eats."
