a. Note:   From the book "Visions of Vail 1867 - 1992" - LeVern Schwery was born on Nov. 24, 1912 at Panama, IA. Cecelia (Petsche) Schwery was born on Nov. 23, 1915, at Harlan, IA. They were married Oct. 12, 1937, at St. Boniface Church in Westphalia, IA. They farmed LeVern's father's farm at Panama for six year. They then bought a farm southeast of Vail and farmed until 1961. At that time they built a new home in Vail and Cecelia still lives there. LeVern worked as a feed salesman until he retired in 1980. They traveled overseas several times to Spain, South America, Hawaii, and two cruises to the Caribbean. They also went to Canada fishing. Cecelia has also made a trip to Rome and saw the Pope. LeVern passed away very suddenly on May 31, 1982. They had eight children. Galen (deceased 1979) lived in Vail; Mark lived at Vail; Nancy Hugeback lives at Vail; Carol Vonnahme lives at Washington, IA; John lives at Carroll; Richard lives at Vail; Roger lives at Ft. Collins, Colorado; and Dale lives at Loveland, Colorado. Cecelia still loves to cook and bake for her children and grandchildren. She keeps busy quilting and doing church work. She has 32 grandchildren and 12 gr-grandchildren. Author: Cecelia Schwery.
