"My great grandmother Verdilla-she went by Dolly- died a couple years ago and she is the one that had all these pictures. There is a bunch more I have yet to go through and ask my grandfather about. She got them from her mother Magdalena and I remember visiting Magdalena in Iowa several times before she died. Dolly also had the shawl that Joseph Klein and Theresa Stolz wrapped their baby that died in on the boat over to the US from Germany. Dolly gave it to one of her sisters a few years before she died and then Dolly's sisters gave it to one of her grand-daughters. The shawl is now in Texas..."
