  Obituary for Theresa Beatrice (Schwery) Wellman Theresa Beatrice (Schwery) Wellman, age 92, of Neola, passed away July 7, 2015 at Bethany Lutheran Home in Council Bluffs.
  Theresa was the daughter of the late Melchoir and Theresa (Klein) Schwery. She was born at the family farm near Panama, Iowa on August 12, 1922. Theresa was Baptized, received Holy Communion and Confirmed at St. Mary?s Catholic Church in Panama. She graduated from St. Mary?s High School in 1939. Theresa attended Commercial Extension School of Business, worked 2 years at Orchard and Wilhelm, at Northern Natural Gas until her marriage. She married Leonard Wellman on January 13, 1948. Six children were born to this union. While her children were growing up, Theresa did babysitting, worked for Ford Propane Gas and later at St. Albert High School for nine years and later at World Insurance for six years. Theresa was an active member of St. Patrick?s Catholic Church, Altar and Rosary Society and the Neola Quilting Club.
  In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by two sons, Steven and Douglas; brothers, Alfred, LeVern, and Melvin; sisters, Margaret Coenen, Viola Leinen, Magdalena Hodapp, Verena Maiwald, Zita Engel, and Mildred Leuschen; sisters-in-law, Verelda Schwery, Velda Wellman, Thelma Christiansen, and Theonita Nelson.
  Theresa is survived by her daughter, Theresa ?Terri? (Mark) Sterbens of Las Vegas, Nevada; sons, Randall ?Randy? (Ardith) Wellman, Curt Wellman, Kelvin ?Kelly? Wellman all of Neola, Iowa; 12 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 3 step granddaughters, 20 step great grandchildren; daughter-in-law, Jean Wellman of Council Bluffs; sisters, Nonna Adams of Santa Crux, California, Cleo Nelsen of Mercer Island, Washington; sister-in-law, Rita Honz of Omaha; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
