Note: *Notes: Grandma Hugeback wrote that the Greteman's lived in Oklahoma. (Ron says near Enid, OK, he thought). She said they used to visit Iowa quite often. They traveled by train. There were on the train for 24 to 30 hours. "They sure were tired", she wrote. "At one place they had to wait for four hours." "As for my grandparents Hoffman, what I heard my father Joe Hoffman's grand father's name was Lawrence and Grandmother's was Mary. I visited their graves in Willey quit often". She also wrote that her father was born in Buffalo, New York and her mother was born in St. Lucas, IA.

Marie was a daughter of Joseph and Mary (Greteman) Hoffman. She was raised in the Willey area and attended the local school. Marie married Louis Hugeback on February 5, 1922 at St. Mary Church in Willey. The couple farmed in the Arcadia, Maple River and Carroll areas. They retired in 1960. Parents of Laura, Clifford, Mary Ann, Virginia, Virgil and Merlin.
