Note: Laua Schirck Mass of the Christian burial for Laura Schirck of Roselle will be at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Dec 27, 2002, at Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Carroll.
Mrs. Schirck, 77, died Saturday, Dec 21, of injuries suffered in a motor-vehicle crash south of Carroll.
A daughter of Louis and Marie (Hoffman) Hugeback, she was born March 13, 1925, at Carroll and attended St. Francis School in Maple River.
She and Earl Schirck were married Oct 25, 1952, at St. Peter and Paul Church in Carroll.
The Schircks farmed west of Carroll until 1974, when they moved to Roselle. Mrs. Schirck was a homemaker. She also worked at mallard View in Carroll from 1992 until retiring in 2000.
She was a member of Holy Angles Parish and Ladies Guild, and she did extensive volunteer work at the parish. She enjoyed her pet cats and dogs, gardening, playing cards, fishing, camping, traveling, quilting and cooking.
Survivors include her husband, Earl, of Roselle; nine children and their spouses: Helen and Randy Baumhover of St. Charles, Mo., Carol Ann Schirck of Carroll, Nancy and John Berbner of kent, Wash., David Schirck of Templeton, Martha and James DeWitt of Waukee, Janet and Rick Gute of Halbur, Lois Schirck of Carroll Duane Schirck of Carroll and Diane Schirck of Carroll; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Virginia Thelen, and her husband, Norbert, of Anita; two brothers: Clifford Hugeback of Carroll and Merlin Hugeback and his wife, Jan, of Carroll; and the following siblings-in-law: Nancy Hugeback of Odebolt, Donna Bergeson of Carroll, Marilyn Setzler of Carroll and Denis and Shirley Schirck of Carroll.
Mrs. Schirck was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dale Schirck; a granddaughter, Michele Schirck; a brother, Virgil Hugeback; a sister, Mary Ann Hinners; four siblings-in-law: Alfred Hinners, Shirley Hugeback, Ron Setzler and Bud Bergeson; and her parents-in-law: Leonard and Martha Schirck.
