Note: Merton Logue was Sheriff of Valley County for over 22 years. He was well liked in his county and all places he dealt with. At his funeral, police cars from all over the state lined the road to the cemetary.
A picnic honoring him had been held at Armstrong Park for his retirement. Over 250 people attended, including many former state and county law enforcement officers.
Merton and his brother, Walter, were very close, being born just one year apart. They played, worked, fished together, and always enjoyed each others company.
