a. Note:   an who enjoyed the simplest pleasures in life. He was the only grandpa I can remember and I loved him very much.
 1900 KS state census: He was 22 and living with his father and mother
 in Olathe. Also was Gertrude age 19, Paul 8 and Horton 2. His father is listed as a farmer.
 1880 Kansas State census Johnson Co Oxford township: Ernest is age 2 and living with his father and mother next door to Ezekiel and Miranda.
 1895: Ernest was 17 Gertrude 14 abd Paul 3 with their parents.
 1905 State census: Johnson Co Oxford: Ernest 27, Bessie 22 Keith 1
 The 1909 KCK dir. lists him as a boarder with his brother Paul at 1227 Wyoming (later renamed Custer). He is listed as a weigher. 1910 KCMo dir. lists him as a weigher at the Board of Trade. Not listed in 1916 KCK dir. 1910 census Wyandotte Co: at 824 so 18th st KCK Wm age 32 Bessie 27 Keith 6 and Tom 2 He is a weighmaster at the Board of Trade
 1915 State census Olathe: William 37, Bessie 34, Keith 11, Tom 8, Leroy 4 and Gerald 2 were living next door to Edgar 59, Ellen 58 and Horton 18.
 The 1920 KCK dir. has him as a laborer at Peet Bros. and living at 720 so Valley.
 1920 census KCK they lived at 1260 Hasbrook and stayed there many years while raising the family.
 1918 WW1 draft registration Sept 12 1918 listed him at age 40 and living at 720 So Valley and his eye color was hazel, his hair black,medium height and slender build.
 The 1920 KCK dir lists them there with Uncle Jack and Aunt Annie Wilson next door at 1262 and Edgar and Ella (my G Grandparents) across the street at 1269.
 The Sloans (Nellies family, Nellie married Bessies brother Wayne) were at 1261 and the Harpers (Aunt Gertie,Ernest's sister)were in the same block. My recollections of grandpa and grandma were at their home at 2268 Lathrop where they lived many years until their death.
 Grandpa and Grandma took me to the American Royal every year and I usually stayed with them for a week during that time.
 Grandpa loved Gene Autry's music and his garden.Grandma was a neat lady who seemed very fond of us kids. She was very close to her sister Annie. They were together often.I always looked forward to a stay at their home. They were normal people as far as I was concerned.I have his death certificate.
