Note: 1840 Otego census but not found in the 1850 Otego. Sally is listed there along with 3 children. It is possible that Eli and his family moved somewhere else however. It is possible that Eli and Sally moved back to Conn. There is an Eli and Sally in Conn census 1860 and 1870.Fairfield Co.
Hurlburt/Hurlbut families are listed in the book "A History of Otego"
Not sure which family Sally came from.
Sally and Eli are buried in the Presbyterian Cem of Otego NY. Also buried next to them are two more members of family (Starr)One died 15 May 184-? and the other simply says age 11.
Amos R Hurlbut d Aug 2 1878 age 62 and Hannah M Hurlbut d Apr 4 1853 age 38y 2m 1d wife of Amos. (poetry unreadable),are buried here.Also Amos and Hannah's child age 3 d Sept 1840.
Amos may have been Sally's brother.
