Note: ing with Sarah age 73. Sarah was probably Williams mother. Next door is Asel/Asahel Bemis/Bemus age 63 a carpenter and wife Lucy Ann (Tracy?) age 45 and sons Deville? age 12 and Charly (spelled this way) age 2.
1860 Otego census has William age 28 living with his mother Sally age 68,Mariah 31, Clarissa 26 and Levi 22. It shows William b Conn. We are sure he was born in NY. The 1880 census Otego lists William age 48 (off 3 yrs) and Julia age 42. It states that William is sick with Rheumatism and Julia sick with inflamed bowels. Bemis's no longer next door and Sarah not listed.
Email from BE: Old newspaper article (The Richfield Springs Mercury Mar 21 1885) states that the home of William Tracy of Otego was recently destroyed by fire.The fire originated in the chimney and was first seen by a neighbor.The family escaped but many things were lost; insured.
