Note: Capitola Swift. Harvey age 10 and Howard age 5.
In the 1900 Oxford census his brother Harvey was living with them age 36
but should be 38. The 1910 Oxford Township census has George age 44 and Capitola 40 Harvey 15 and Howard 10. Also living with them are Lyman Swift age 73 and Capitola 69.
A member of this family was Viola May Riddle who married Albert Plummer. Residing in Grove Okla.
George is Margaret Pirtle's Grandfather. His name sometimes appears as Geroge B McClellan McConnell.
Info from his obit: He left Logan Co Ill when he was 5 and moved to KCMO for two years then they moved to Johnson Co KS where he farmed for the rest of his life. He was a Christian man and a hard worker who was always willing to help his neighbors. He was liked by all who knew him. He was a member of the Summer Field Grange.He was a kind and loving father and no job was too large for him. He never tired and worked until 5 months of his death. W.L.Frye and Sons Funeral Home were in charge of the burial and service. Rev. E M Frank conducted the service.
