1. Title:   Census 1860

Notes
a. Note:   He appears in the 1860 Census as John Mund, age 35, born in Ireland. John Munn enrolled in the army at the St. Louis Armory at the age of 33 on 1 Jun 1861. This reported age conflicts with his age on the 1860 census, but he may have lied about his age in 1861 to ensure he would be accepted in the army. He mustered into C Company in the 7th Missouri Volunteer Infantry on 26 Jun 1861. On 15 Jul 1861, he transferred into D Company under the command of Col John D Stevenson and Captain Edwin Wakefield. Sometime during July, he drank some water out of the Missouri River near Boonville and became sick. Many other members of his company also became sick. He died a month later in camp at Camp Rolla, of the bloody flux, or chronic diarrhea. His Civil War service file shows that he may have also used the last name Meen and Mun.
