a. Note:   Walter Lee Savell, Sr was the second of three children. He was born near San Francisco, California but was raised in Georgia. His father was William
 Benjamin Savell. As it turned out his father-in-law was William Benjamin Head.
 He was an Army ROTC cadet at the University of Georgia where he graduated in
 1911 with a degree in chemical engineering. I don't know what he did during
 World War I. By World War II he was a Colonel in the US Army. I have an
 newspaper obituary that said he invented the napalm bomb for the US. During
 his life he worked for the Rand Corporation and was doing some extensive work
 in cancer research. I remember that in the late 50s he owned a DeSoto. A very
 distinctive looking car with push button automatic transmission. He had a
 hobby of painting. I have one of his paintings on my wall at home. The
 painting is of a church in or around Westport. He had heart bypass surgery in
 1964 and died on January 2, 1965 at his home in Westport, Connecticut.
