Note: N1721 did he go west with George Frederick Maudsley 1910 -1940 ??? why can’t I find him in 1910 before the war? went by nickname??? Per Wm Ellicks Jr 2011- 5 of the boys enlisted in the army and all went to France to fight. All came home in one piece. Earl was shell shocked while over there and never seemed to recover. Upon his return to the US he spent a short period of time on the old farm and then literally disappeared. Remaining siblings delegated Ezra to locate Earl. He hired a detective who supposedly found some traces as far away as Oregon, but nothing was ever confirmed. The whole family had him declared dead in the mid-60’s. Grandpa Ezra was very upset over the whole affair, I guess he had been close as kids.
