Note: Roger was born in 1908. He passed away in 1967. During his pre-teen years he lived with his parents and older brother in the house on the Henderson Estate in Chagrin Falls, Orange Township, Cuyahoga Co., OH where his father, Edwin James, was superintendent until the estate was liquidated in the 1910s. After a few years living in Willoughby, Ohio the family moved to a dairy farm in Austinburg, Ashtabula County, Ohio. Following graduation from Ohio State University in 1931, he married Dorothy Dennis, his college sweetheart, bought a farm near his brother's and father's farms in Austinburg, and joined them in a partnership to form Springbrook Farms Diary that was liquidated just prior to his death in 1967. He was a respected businessman, highly regarded community leader, and successful county-level elected official.
