Note: Roland graduated from Denison University, Granville, Ohio, class of 1933, where he met Fern Dennis whom he married in 1937. After graduation Roland taught history, was assistant football coach and later academic counselor at Collinwood High School in Cleveland, Ohio. He earned a Master's degree in Business and Education at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. In 1952 he left teaching and started to work for U.S Steel where he was Director of Training and Development and Labor Relations. After retirement he and Fern moved back to Granville, Ohio from the Pittsburgh, PA area. !n 1989 they moved to Stilllwater, Oklahoma.
