  James M. Deacon Jr., 81, passed away peacefully in the hospital, Tuesday, Feb. 14, 2017.
  He was born May 17, 1935, in Lexington, Ky., where he grew up, and earned his law degree from University of Kentucky. He worked in the oil and gas industry and moved to Fort Worth to work for Bass Enterprises Production Company.
  Jim will be remembered by his family and friends for his generous, loving and caring nature and his immense love of life. He had many interests, including good food (especially Cajun), sports (especially basketball), photograpy (a good photographer himself) and jazz music. His favorite motto ond word of advice was "just do it." He'll be tremendously missed by all who knew him. James was preceded in death by his father, James M. Deacon Sr., and mother, Nancy Allen Deacon.
  Survivors: Wife, Jean E. Proctor Deacon of Aledo; daughter, Rebecca Deacon (Rob) Addington and grandchildren, Chase, Lauren, Peyton and Katherine; stepdaughter, Reginal Ward Singer and grandchildren Rachel (Jeffrey) Alexsandr, and Hannah; stepson, Paul (Cindy) Ward, and grandchildren, Joshua and Alicia; and great-grandchild, Caulder Deacon Ward; former wife, Joyce Lane Deacon, and brother, John (Pat) Deacon.

  James Murrell Deacon, Jr. passed away on February 14, 2017 in Fort Worth, TX. Jim, as his friends knew him, was born in Lexington, KY on May 17, 1935. He attended the Lexington and Fayette County schools before matriculating to the University of Kentucky from which he was awarded the Bachelor of Laws degree in 1960. He was a member of the US Army Reserves for eight years during and following the award of his law degree.
  He married Sylvia Joyce Lane, a graduate of Henry Clay High School, on June 3, 1957. Following graduation from the College of Law, Jim and Joyce moved to New Orleans, LA where he began his professional career in the natural gas and petroleum industry as an attorney with Texaco, Inc. While still with Texaco, he later moved to New York and travelled extensively on its behalf throughout the world.
  Following his resignation from Texaco, he accepted employment from Bass Brothers Enterprises and moved to Fort Worth, TX as an attorney in its natural gas operations. Following his retirement, he continued to reside in the Fort Worth area. His retirement hobbies included photography, trekking, cycling, computer technology, and genealogy.
  His father, James Murrell Deacon, Sr., was associated with the Lexington and Fayette County school systems for many years beginning as a teacher at Henry Clay High School and continuing as principal at Morton and Lexington Junior High Schools before ending his career as Associate Superintendent for Personnel of the Fayette County Schools. His father and his mother, Nancy Rebecca Allen Deacon, predeceased him in death. His is survived by his wife, Jean Elaine Procter; his daughter and son-in-law, Rebecca D. and Robert Addington and their children (Peyton and Katherine) of Dallas TX; his brother and sister-in-law, John A. and Patricia B. Deacon, of The Villages, FL; and his cousin, Lucille Kendal Mock, of Warrensburg, MO.
  Following cremation, Jim's remains will be spread at his home in Aledo, TX.
