  1. Peter John Michael Kempson: Birth: ABT 1800 in Charleston, SC. Death: in Alvaton, GA

Notes
a. Note:   Harmon was born in Hanover, Germany. at the age of 18 he stowed away on a ship belonging to his mother's family whose last name was Wilheim and came to America. Legend has it that this Wilhelm family is the same as that from which Kaiser Wilhelm came, but our records are lacking any specifics in this regard other than Susan Kempson's great grandmother was a Wilhelm.
Harmon arrived in Charleston, SC in 1778 as the American Revolution still was on-going. All that we know of him until he migrated south with his family to Georgia in 1870 is that he was in both North and South Carolina, principally in the Charleston area.
He lived out his later life in the Coweta-Meriwether County area and is buried with many of those who came with him in the Mount Carmel Church Cemetary.
One of his great grandchildren, Harmon W. Caldwell was Chancellor of the University of Georgia several years ago.
