a. Note:   !Alexander Peers was a loyalist. He either rented or owned a farm on the Hudson River near the mouth of the Pocantico River. He submitted a claim to a Commission in Nova Scotia for losses sustained during the Revolution, including: A House and 7 acres of land valued at 110 pounds; 123 tenant acres valued at 110 pounds; stock, grainhouse and goods 150 pounds; debts owed him 22 pounds, 6 shillings; 3 horses 120 pound; 3 horses 42 pounds, 10 shillings; 1 yoke of oxen and 1 cow, 84 pounds, 10 shillings; 1 watch and greatcoat, 10 shillings (all in New York currency). During the Revolutionary War, he served as a Private under Major M. Bearmore, Captain Samuel Kipp and Captain Isaac Hatfield. His regiment specialized in foraging beef for the British Army, and raiding "Rebel" stocks. The regiment, under Col. James Delancy, was known as "Delancy's Cowboys".
