Note: r died and took his father's name Charles Burdette. Later in life he dropped the name Burdette and became Charles Snook. He began to provide for himself at age 12. He worked in a cooper shop (barrel making), Gateway Milling Co, during WWII he was exempted from the draft. He co-owned and operated a feed business called H&S Feed Co. South Adams St, Peoria, Il until it was closed in the late forties. He then worked for Leu's Produce, ran a gas station, owned and operated several taverns: The Glee Club and The Gateway. His last job was with the State of Illinois working as a truck driver until age 63. He was 6'4" and weighed around 250 most of his adult life.
