He was ordained by the Lowerlight Mission Association and served as a pastor and as an evangelist with the Buckley Gospel Tabernacle in Buckley, Mi. Ralph also worked at Caterpillar Inc. in the parts department in Morton. He worked there twenty years and retired in 1973. Over many years, he hosted three radio programs, including "Your Call to Worship" and "Hart to Heart Meditations" on WPEO Radio. He was named Senior Citizen of the Year in 1994.
