Notes
a. Note:   Illiterate made her mark "X" on birth cert. of Mary Ann Case. Shown as a Cloth cutter, living at 22 York St., (maybe the one off Abbey Rd, Barking) County of West Ham in 1881 Census.
1881 Census persons living at same address 22 York St., were: page 01824 shows Elizabeth Case age 5 born Plaistow district, Essex; Census district West Ham 1713 65 13 1341409. Caroline Case (mother), Hannah (aged 7), Henrietta (10), Mary Ann (23 unmarried born Sth Shields, Durham - page 01825, 1713 64 12 1341409), Minerva (13) and Walter (8) both born Plaistow, Essex on page 01825, 1713 65 13 1341409.
Organised registration of births etc. began July 1837.
Probably aged about 23 when first child born.
Marriage could be between 1850 (aged 15) to 1869 (aged 34) assuming correct age given in 1881 census.
Searched married index's for 1854 to 1859 no certified marriage found although some microfiche's at Stockport Library were unreadable.
If she spoke with a Geordie accent, then the 1881 Census enumerator, in West Ham, may have misinterpreted her birth parish as Pully Well when it may have been Pennywell or Fulwell east and north of Sunderland respectively. There is a Pillowell in West Dean, Gloucestershire - See 1951 Census list of place names.
On Josephine Elizabeth (Lizzie) Case's birth certificate, Caroline's maiden name given as Allington. On Mary Ann's birth certificate (and the 1881 census) the same name is given as Allerton.
Children (aware of 6 births) born: Eldest 1858, next 1867, 1868 etc until 1876 for the youngest.
Likely to have passed away before the age of 90 (i.e. 1925)
In the ancient records before 1100 AD the earliest family name of Allington, appears as an Angle Saxon family in Cambridgeshire.
In the ancient records before 1100 AD the earliest family name of Allerton, appears as an Angle Saxon family in Yorkshire.
