a. Note:   GEORGE B. NINEMIRES 79 DIES IN MISSOURI GEORGE B. NINEMIRES, 79-year old former Ottumwan died Wednesday at 2:00 o'clock at his home in Summerville, Missouri. The son of Samuel and Mary Ninemires, he was born November 14, 1869, in Pattonsburg, Mo., where he was a member of the Baptist Church. His marriage to Mary Frances McCormick took place Sept. 6, 1891, in Ottumwa. A farmer most of his life, Mr. Ninemire owned a farm on route 5, until last year when he returned to summerville, Mo., to operate a grocery store. He was preceded in death by his wife Oct 29, 1947; one son Samuel; two brothers and three sisters. Mr. Ninemires is survived by four daughters; Mrs. Ethel Wagner, Unionville, Iowa; Mrs. Nellie Rutledge of Colorado Springs, Co.; Mrs. Osie Mathre of Denver, Co.; and Mrs. Junia Jacobs of Summerville, Mo. Two sons; George of Burlington, Ia.; and Carl of Denver, Co. One sister, Mrs. Ida Slye of Pattonsburg, Mo. Four brothers, Henry and Fred both of Jefferson, Ia.; Jess of Shenandoah and Elvis of Ottumwa. 23 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren. The body arrived in Ottumwa today and was taken to Community Funeral Home where services will be held Saturday at 1:30 p.m. in charge of Rev. V.L. Currier of the Finley Avenue Baptist Church. Burial will be in Memorial Lawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Nels Bright, Harvey Evans, Frank Pedrick, Otho McCoy, Orval Willits and Ed Nye. ******************************* George B. went to Wapello County Iowa as a young man and worked in the coal mines for a time. He was a farmer and milked cows and hauled milk for himself and people along the route to Ottumwa everyday and then came home and tended to his corn. He raised a few hogs to sell and for his own use. After Mary Frances died he went to Centerville, Mo., and bought a small store and ran it for a few years before he died in 1948.
