Note: 15th concession, approx. one mile from the Georgian bay shore. That was about the same time the marchildon family took up homestead where now resides Rosaire Moreau. Johnny went to school where he was taught French and English. In his teens he married Elizabeth and moved west to settle on a homestead. They lived in St. Leon, Manitoba where they had thier children. Ubald died at the age of 3 with pneumonia, Elizabeth died shortly after, Both were burried at St. Leon. Philias was 2 years old at the time. Mr.&Mrs. Napoleon Landry took care of Philias until he was 7 yrs old. Johnny married Sophie Fraser in 1889, ( no children). Moved to Sypress Manitoba then settled in St. Alphonse manitoba where he farrmed until he was offered a job for the C.N.R. He worked as a section boss for years, then was offered a job of Pump-man from Indian Springs to Greenway, where he took care of the wells asn saw that the water tanks were full all the time. He retired at the age of 75. While he was cleaning snow off a lean-to, he had a fall and hurt his neck, and disloacated his shoulder, then took epileptic fits periodically until he died in 1938.
