a. Note:   Per Joseph Grant, eldest son of Antoine, he drove the mail stage from Leland & Provemont (now Lake Leelanau) to Sutton's Bay in early 1900s and lived in Leland & Provemont. Since Antoine's wife, Georgiana died soon after their youngest son, Thomas was born, the children were scattered. Joseph was raised by his aunt, Eliza (Grant) Beaudoin from age 12-18, just 5 minutes walk from their maternal grandmother, Emily (Manseau) Grant. William, Edgar, Robert and possibly Phillip went to an orphanage in Grand Rapids. William was subsequently adopted by Benjamin & Mae Rosenberg of Kewadin, MI, and Phillip was adopted by a Reynolds family in Grand Rapids. Irene was raised by a Mr. & Mrs. Smyth of Grand Rapids and Thomas was raised by, as far as can be determined, by his Bosse grandparents.
