a. Continued:   Obituary-December 19, 1968 -Georgetown Times Mrs. Albert P. Ward Died Tuesday Night at Local Hospital: Mrs. Sarah Ellen Harrelson Ward, widow of Albert Percival Ward, died at the Georgetown County Memorial Hospital, Tuesday night after several days critical illness. Funeral services will be Thursday afternoon at three o�clock in the First Baptist Church. Officiating will be the Rev. Julius M. Kirkland. Burial will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery, Pennyroyal. The Order of the Eastern Star will accord fraternal rites at the grave. Mayer Funeral Home is in charge. Mrs. Ward was born in Georgetown County on December 9, 1885, a daughter of the late John Edward Harrelson and Mrs. Julia Marie Collins Harrelson. She taught school as a young woman and had been active in religious and civic work all her life. She worked with Juliette Lowe in Savannah Ga., in establishing the Girl Scouts of America; she was organizer and first Worthy Matron of Winyah Chapter No. 148, Order of the Eastern Star; a member of Arthur Manigault Chapter United Daughters of the Confederacy; and a member of the First Baptist Church. Surviving are: a son, Captain Albert Percival Ward, US merchant marines, of Jacksonville, Fla.; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; a brother, Herbert A. Harrelson of Georgetown; and two sisters, Mrs. O. K. Smith, and Mrs. Sudie H. Lassiter, both of Georgetown.
