Note: g for the Cotton Belt Railway during the war. One of his first jobs was guarding railroad bridges. Eventually became a Fireman, eventually becoming an Engineer in his last years. Van suffered a mild heart attack when attempting to build a new home on the 60 acre farm he had purchased earlier. He was told to rest from work, but since city services had not been build up on the farmhouse, he attempted to get firewood for an upcoming spring snowfall. He suffered a massive coronary and passed away on 3/15/1960.
